About Us

About Us

Thank you for your interest and desire to learn more about us.   We would be honored to have you visit our services and to learn more about the Christians meeting to study and worship at this location.  Our activities as a local church seek to replicate the type of work and worship found in the New Testament.

We are Christians, just like those you can read about from the word of God found in the Bible.   The Bible reveals that those that heard the word and followed its teaching were first called Christians in Antioch (Acts 11:26).   The Apostle Peter also used the term Christian in I Peter 4:16.

We are not a denomination.  Denominationalism is the tendency of mankind to separate or “divide” into various religious sects or teachings of men.  The Bible teaches that “there should be no divisions among you” and also that Christ is not divided (I Cor. 1: 10-13).  Jesus also prayed that His followers would be one just as He was with His Holy Father.  (John 17)

We are also a local part of the body of Christ, also known as His church of which Christ is the only head as found in Eph. 1:22, 23 and Col. 1:23, 24.  Therefore we follow no “earthly head” of His church as some men have appointed by their own authority…not God’s.   We do not follow any man made creed, council or synod in order to know what to do but “speak as the oracles of God” on all matters relating to our salvation just as Peter directed in 1 Peter 4:11.   John 8:31 also teaches, “If you abide in My word you are My disciples indeed.”

We are a spiritual family and share a common relationship to God as “sons and daughters” (II Cor. 6:18).  In this relationship we are taught in Rom. 12:10 to be “kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another.”  We seek to help one another as Christians to walk in unity and work together so that all may one day share the glories of Heaven.   Our desire is to build up one another in love.

We also focus on spreading the gospel of salvation by teaching what the Bible says about how to be saved to those not yet Christians nor a part of the family of God’s children.  We also ask everyone to be like the Bereans of Acts 17:11 by searching the scriptures daily to see if what is being taught is according to the revealed word of God.  We teach and implore that all men should reject the teachings of men and simply follow the teachings of Christ and the pattern provided for us from His word.   We believe the Bible is inspired of God and that it is our only guide in religious faith and practice.  We are also warned never to depart from the teaching of the gospel that was delivered to us.  (Gal. 1:6-9)

While the world may say the word of God is “outdated” or “no longer relevant”, we know that is simply not true.  In fact, the word of God is as alive and as relevant as ever in a world seeking to depart from it.  “The seed is the word of God” (Luke 8:11).  When you plant a seed of corn that is exactly what will grow up from that seed.   God’s word, in the same likeness, will produce Christians that can worship in a local church just as they did nearly 2000 years ago.

We invite you to learn more about what the word of God teaches us and what to expect in our worship services on this website.   We hope and pray that you will consider further study of God’s love for you.
